NOPJF Resources for Police Officers

With between 70% and 80% of first responders suffering significant damage to their homes as a result of Katrina, we all must work together to help find acceptable housing solutions. This arduous process can often take months and in many cases involve both interim and permanent steps.  It is critical at this point in the history of New Orleans that we focus on a simple goal: return as many of these valued members of our community and their families to a “normal lifestyle” as soon as possible. Many of the resources listed on this page are provided to support that effort. Other NOPJF resources are also listed.
Mortgage & Finance

This section provides information needed by those seeking financing for the purchase or renovation of a home. It also explains the NOPJF mortgage subsidy program and the percentages it pays for new construction, new homes and loans. Contact information for specific partner lending institutions that can supply reduced interest loans (with some income limitations) and a variety of other types of loans are also provided.
