Walk the Beat proceeds distributed to NOPD Districts at NOPJF luncheon

On Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at the Loews Hotel, the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation hosted a noon Walk the Beat reception. Invited were New Orleans Police Commanders representing each police District that participated in the Walk the Beat fundraiser.

The purpose of the event was to present the dollar amount raised by each police District. Funds raised from Walk the Beat go directly to each District to help support police training, equipment, and/or supplies needed for effective crime prevention.

The Foundation donated $7000 of additional money that was divided among the Districts. Also on hand for the celebration was Kristina Bradford, Marketing Manager of Whole Foods, who presented a $250 gift card to New Orleans Police Department Walk the Beat Coordinator, Sergeant L.J. Smith.
